Hey there! I’m Usman, a passionate system administrator and cloud solutions architect who loves tinkering with technology and sharing knowledge with others. I’m currently working as a System Administrator at Autoscale Ventures in Kirkland, Washington, where I get to work with cutting-edge infrastructure and help keep everything running smoothly.

What I Do

I’m all about keeping systems running efficiently and securely. My day-to-day involves monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring our IT infrastructure is bulletproof. I love the challenge of solving complex technical problems and finding creative solutions to make systems more reliable and efficient.

When I’m not managing servers and networks, I enjoy sharing my knowledge through technical writing and training. I’ve had the privilege of training hundreds of students and professionals in cloud technologies, and I’m always excited to help others learn and grow in the tech field.

My Journey

I started my tech journey with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Bahria University Islamabad, and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Computer Science at NUST. My career has taken me through various roles - from mobile app testing and optimization to leading cloud infrastructure teams, and now to system administration.

What I love most about my work is the constant learning and problem-solving. Whether it’s setting up complex cloud environments, automating processes with shell scripting, or building internal documentation systems, there’s always something new to discover and improve.

Beyond Work

I’m passionate about open-source technologies and have been an active member of the Open Source Foundation of Pakistan since 2018. I believe in the power of community-driven development and love contributing to projects that make technology more accessible to everyone.

When I’m not working or studying, you’ll find me exploring new technologies, writing about my experiences, or helping others in the tech community. I’m always excited to connect with fellow tech enthusiasts and learn from their experiences!

Current Role

System Administrator at Autoscale Ventures (April 2023 - Present)

I’m responsible for maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring security through proper access controls and backups, and keeping our systems running at peak performance. I also enjoy building internal documentation and training materials to help our team stay up-to-date with the latest technologies.

Community Involvement

I’m proud to be a member of the IEEE Computer Club and have worked with the Cyber Reconnaissance and Combat (CRC) Lab. I’m also an active member of the Open Source Foundation of Pakistan, where I help promote awareness and adoption of open-source technologies across Pakistan.
